Notifications you receive

Employees and anyone else using Assisterp can use this page to understand a notification or email Assisterp sent them, and to change what they receive. To set up the reminder rules your firm sends, see Reminders and notifications instead. That setup is usually admin work.

The bell in the top bar shows how many unread notifications you have. Select it to open Notification:

  • Each notification shows who it’s from, a title, a short message, and how long ago it arrived.
  • Select a notification to mark it read and open what it’s about, such as a task or a client. If your role doesn’t include that area, you’ll see You don’t have permission.
  • Select Mark all as read to clear the unread count.

The first time you open Assisterp, your browser asks whether Assisterp may show notifications. Allow it if you want to see notifications even when Assisterp isn’t the tab you’re looking at. You can change this later in your browser’s site settings.

Your firm can set reminder rules that email people about upcoming or overdue work, such as a task that’s due or a meeting that’s coming up. If a rule is set to notify assignees, you’ll get the email while you’re assigned to the task or invited to the meeting. Meeting reminders include a calendar file.

Reminders stop once the item is completed, paid, or closed. A rule set to repeat keeps emailing until then. You can’t turn reminder emails off yourself. If you get reminders you don’t need, ask your administrator.

  • Meeting Invitation, when someone schedules a meeting with you and sends invitations. It includes a calendar file.
  • Task Invitation, for tasks Assisterp creates from a recurring task that’s set to email automatically.
  1. Open Settings > Reminders & Notifications > Team Notifications.
  2. Choose a category tab.
  3. For each row, turn In App (the bell) and Push (browser notifications) on or off.
  4. Select Save.

These choices apply only to you. You won’t get a notification type until you’ve turned it on. The Email and SMS switches on this page don’t send anything yet.

If you don’t see Settings, your role doesn’t include this page. Nobody else can change these choices for you, so ask your administrator to give your role access.
