First Day in Assisterp
New employees can follow this page on their first day, once your firm has already set up Assisterp and given you an account. It walks through one ordinary work day in order. Each step links to the full article if you need more.
If you don’t know your firm’s sign-in address, ask your manager. Each firm signs in at its own address. If something on this page is missing from your screen, your role may not include it — see Permissions and Visibility.
1. Sign in
Section titled “1. Sign in”- Open your firm’s Assisterp sign-in page.
- Enter your email address and password.
- Select Login.
If your firm didn’t send you a password, select Forgot Password? to set one. If sign-in fails, see Troubleshooting.
2. Start your work day
Section titled “2. Start your work day”Right after you sign in, the Start your work day window asks where you’re working. Choose Office or Remote. Assisterp records your start time. Assisterp calls this signing in to attendance. Your firm may call it clocking in.
3. Check the dashboard
Section titled “3. Check the dashboard”Dashboard shows your own work at a glance. It has cards such as My Total Tasks, My Due Tasks, My Total Meetings, and My Upcoming Meetings. If your role includes invoices, it also shows My Total Invoices and My Overdue Invoices. Select a task card or row to jump to that work.
4. Work on your tasks
Section titled “4. Work on your tasks”Open Task in the left sidebar to see the tasks assigned to you. Open a task to read its comments, work through its SubTasks, and update its status when you’re done. A task with unfinished subtasks can’t be marked complete until the subtasks are finished.
Some tasks belong to a larger job — a piece of client work that moves through stages on a board. See How work fits together for how tasks, jobs, and pipelines relate. The full details are in Tasks and subtasks.
5. Log your time
Section titled “5. Log your time”If your firm tracks time, open Time Sheet and select Add (the plus icon) to record what you worked on. You can also log time from an open task. See Time Sheet.
6. Sign out at the end of the day
Section titled “6. Sign out at the end of the day”When you select Logout, Assisterp also signs you out of today’s attendance session. To sign out of attendance but stay in Assisterp, use the attendance window: when it shows Active session found, select Sign out now. If you forget, the window opens on Pending sign-out the next time you sign in, so you can sort out the open day. See Sign out at the end of your day.
Where things are
Section titled “Where things are”The left sidebar holds everything else:
- Clients — client records. See Clients.
- Calendar — your tasks and meetings in All Events, Tasks, and Meetings views. See Calendar views.
- Workflow — Jobs and Pipelines, when your role includes them. See Jobs and pipelines.
- Accounting — invoices and payments, when your role includes them.
- Help — send a problem or question to the Assisterp development team. See Report a problem.
- Settings — firm setup. Most employees won’t see this.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”The bell in the top bar collects notifications about your work, and your firm may email you reminders. See Notifications you receive.
If you get stuck
Section titled “If you get stuck”- Something is blocked or won’t save: see Troubleshooting.
- A menu or button a colleague has is missing for you: see Permissions and Visibility.
- You’re not sure what’s expected of you on a piece of work: ask your manager.
